Several passengers on the low cost carrier Redjet were left stranded in Barbados yesterday, after the airline cancelled a flight from Barbados to Guyana.
The flight was cancelled because of problems with the aircraft's hydraulic system, which affected about 488 passengers in Barbados, Trinidad and Guyana.
Most of the Guyana bound passengers were accommodated on competing carriers Caribbean Airlines and LIAT at the expense of Redjet.
Some passengers were issued with refunds while others opted to be on standby until the resumption of the airline's service.
Communicatations executive with Redjet, Nyssa Pierre apologised to the displaced passengers for the inconvenience and said the airline would deal with the situation on a case by case basis.
