Georgetown : President Donald Ramotar formally swore in Georgetown’s new Deputy Mayor Patricia Chase-Green at the Office of the President last evening.
After delivery the oath of office, the Head of State urged Mrs Chase-Green to “work hard to improve our city” and expressed the hope that with her appointed to the post that, “it will give additional strength to the City Council as they work to see Georgetown once again restored to its glory in the shortest possible time”.
In brief remarks, the Deputy Mayor said the interest of the city is her main focus. “I intend to, like my fellow councillors, work to restore Georgetown to its former glory”.
Immediately after her swearing in, the Deputy Mayor and top city officials attended a meeting facilitated by Minister in the Ministry of Local Government Norman Whittaker as part of efforts to organise the Georgetown Restoration Project, which is set to commence soon
