Georgetown: British singer, Sami Yusuf will be performing tonight at the National Stadium. Know as the ‘King of Islamic Pop,’ his concert is not an Islamic event, but one to celebrate truth and spirituality among all races and religions. The event begins at 18:00hrs. There will be a local segment which will feature the recitation and translation of parts of the Holy Quran, as well as local talents featuring winners of the Regional Qaseeda competitions
There will also be an awards ceremony where the top three National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) and Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) students will be honoured.
According to Chief Executive Officer of Inspire Inc, Yog Mahadeo, there are a number of overseas based Guyanese along with other nationalities who are coming to see Sami Yusuf perform
