East Coast Demerara : Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred tuesday on the Goedverwagting Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD), involving motorcar PRR 6071 driven by a resident of Thomas Street, Kitty; and an unidentified female pedestrian (deceased).
A police report said the vehicle which was proceeding west along the southern carriageway of the road, collided with pedestrian, who reportedly ran into its path from south to north.
The woman was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries whilst receiving treatment.
The driver who passed a breathalyzer test, is in custody assisting with the investigation.
