ECD : Investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred last night on the Lusignan Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD), and which resulted in the death of pedestrian Deonarine Singh, 48 years, of Lusignan. The public road was part of the route for the Diwali motorcade.
Investigations have revealed that Deonarine Singh allegedly attempted to cross the road and was struck down by a motor vehicle. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
