Georgetown : The Guyana’s People Partnership (GPP) 2011 presidential candidate Peter Ramsaroop admonishes the government for lying to the population that Hydro is coming when the Government can’t manage to build the access road to the falls much less a billion dollar Hydro Plant.
Ramsaroop said the lavish plan for the Amaila Falls hydroelectric project by the government is a poor decision to solve the current energy woes. The GPP calls for the suspension of the Project and funds diverted to multiple hydro plants that could be developed in areas such as the Bartica Triangle and the Region 10 area. The rational for this is that these are the areas that we should be concentrating on relocating the coastal plains to and cheaper energy in those areas can stimulate growth in many new industries.
