Georgetown: Guyana’s two major cell phone companies, Digicel Guyana and Guyana Telephone and Telegraph company (GT&T) are racing with their BlackBerry Z10 smartphone launch.
The two companies advertised and announced within the same day their launch of the new device from Research In Motion Limited (RIM), makers of BlackBerry.
Digicel stated that their device will be available in stores countrywide from today and will cost G$140,000. While GT&T’s Chief Financial Officer, Justin Nedd disclosed that the same phone goes on sale for G$158,000 at GT&T outlets countrywide, but patrons will receive free data service for one year.
