Plan to cut amputations

Bridgetown.

The Barbados Diabetes Foundation yesterday donated 4400 monofilament tools to the Ministry of Health, to test sensitivity of the feet of Barbadians.

These tools will be distributed to 12 centres, including polyclinics and will be monitored by the foundation diabetes committe.

Dr Oscar Jordan, the chairman of the foundation said with the help of these tools, he hoped that  the rate of amputations on the island  will be lower.
