Plantation Balthyock regularised- 89 residents received titles

 

Berbice : Plantation Balthyock located at the left Bank of Berbice River, Blairmont Number One Settlement, West Bank Berbice is now regularised.

 Residents of the community this evening received their allocation letters informing them of their houselots, whilst others had the opportunity of   picking their lot numbers using a lottery system.
Minister of Housing and Water Irfaan Ali expressed gratitude and sincere thanks to the residents for their cooperation as they remained committed to a process which saw the timely completion of the occupational survey, the first and most important step in regularizing their area.  

The regularisation of Plantation Balthyock is a $46M investment which attracted the following breakdown, $15M for the water transmission, $15M for the construction of an access bridge and $10M for infrastructure works to be executed by the Guyana Power and Light Inc. for the provision of electricity to the area.
The land that will be occupied by the residents was successfully transferred from the Guyana Sugar Corporation to the Central Housing and Planning Authority and will see 89 lots being distributed, which will benefit approximately 150 persons.
