PM announces 11 new curfew hotspots

Port-of-Spain: Prime MInister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has announced that the entire coastline of Trinidad and Tobago extending three miles into the sea as well as 11 new areas will fall under the current 11pm to 4am curfew starting on Wednesday.

The new areas would include Carli Bay, Moruga, Cedros, Claxton Bay, Maloney, La Horquetta, Arouca, Dow Village, Toco, Couva and Carapichiama.

The announcement followed a seven hour meeting of the National Security Council at the Office of the Prime MInister earlier today. The Prime Minister is head of the National Security Council.

Security personnel showed the media video footage taken from CCTV cameras, of crime taking place along several parts of East Port-of-Spain.

However, while the footage showed people in the act of commiting crime, Attorney General Anand Ramlogan  said the state's ahands are tied because of a lack of witnesses.
