Georgetown : Prime Minister and acting President Samuel Hinds today attended two church services to commemorate Father’s Day.
The first service was held at the St. George’s Cathedral, which was their annual celebration for Trinity Sunday, also referred to as Convocation Sunday, which was hosted by the St. John’s Association of Guyana.
Also present at this service were Minister of Health, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, members of the Disciplined Services and members of the St. John’s nurses Association.
The second service was held at the St. Peter’s African Methodist Episcopal Church in Queenstown.
Reverend Rudolph Aaron, Presiding Elder of the European District in his sermon said “children and parents speak an entirely different language. Therefore parents, understanding that fact need to strive daily to understand their children so as to strengthen their relationship.
Parents, moreso fathers, have the grand responsibility of cultivating the necessary behavioural skills and teaching what is pertinent to the upbringing and life of their child/children”.
