Georgetown: Investigators this morning continue to probe the killing of Eccles resident Angole Cox by members of the force. A lead CID officer on the case told Trakkernews this morning that so far information is that the officers went peacefully to make an arrest after there were reports of a disturbance. He said that at no time did the police use force until they were attacked by the assailant who brandished a knife, cutting two ranks in the process of making the arrest. The man the officer explained who was in a fit of rage and was armed threatened to kill a woman when the police were summoned. The shooting caused serious condemnation and angered residents and neighbors who said that the police couls have used non lethal force to subdue the man. However, the CID officer explained that it is easy to suggest the kind of force officers should use while being confronted by someone who is armed, but when the assailant proceed to attack you then is an effort to save your own life force has to be used.
