Georgetown: The Police high command, this morning is being called upon to launch an investigation into the use of excessive force by its ranks. This follows last evening's shooting of a Bare root villager . "What was the need to shoot the man when he was on the ground unarmed", remarked an angry resident speaking to TrakkerNews last evening. But from the victim's movements after police approached him, the ranks believed that he was armed with a weapon and threw it in a trench when they approached him. After being pursued he tried to escape forcing the police to shoot him in the leg. But villagers are angry and not buying the police version of the events. The young man is said to be a suspect in an armed robbery.
