Georgetown: At about 3:30am today Ralph Turpin, 49 years of Agriculture Road, Triumph, ECD, was shot to his head by a man armed with a firearm at Cornhill Street, Stabroek, Georgetown.
A suspect has been identified and the police are currently searching for a police corporal who is implicated.
Investigations so far have disclosed that a senior police officer and his wife went to purchase food at the Stabroek Market during which there was an altercation involving females near the food stall. It is alleged that during that altercation a man chucked one of the females and the deceased went to make peace during which he was allegedly shot to his head by the man who also placed a gun to the head of one of the females.
The police have since made checks to locate the policeman who is implicated in the matter, but up to the time of this press release he has not been located.
