Berbice : Six men and two women have been arrested by the police as the investigations continue into the murder of rice farmer Shawn Fraser, 36 years, of Hogstye, Corentyne, which occurred yesterday at Hogstye Backdam.
A police report stated that Shawn Fraser and his brother Audwin Fraser, 34 years of Adventure, Corentyne, were walking along a dam when they were confronted by three men armed with shotguns.
The armed men opened fire on the two brothers who both received injuries. They were taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where Shawn Fraser was pronounced dead on arrival, while Audwin Fraser was admitted a patient in a serious condition.
