Arima: Arima police are investigating the discovery of a hand grenade at Gauva Avenue, By-pass Road in Arima.
So far one man was arrested.
Police say they were in the area on inquiries when they encountered a man who threw a green object into a bushy area and ran off.
He was quickly caught and when a search was made it was discovered the object was a hand grenade.
Officers of the Special Anti-Crime Unit's Firearms Laboratory were called in.
They took possession of the grenade and are now conducting inquiries.
