Police call in sick again; say stations uninhabitable

Police officers have already called in 'sick' today at police stations in Port of Spain.

Early reports say there is absenteeism at City Hall and other stations in and around the capital.

Soldiers are already being called out to stand in for the officers who are protesting Government's five percent wage increase offer.

The police officers warned yesterday that they would be abandoning stations they deem unfit for human occupation.

Police officers are debarred from taking industrial action as they are considered an essential service.

They is no law forbidding an employee however, from calling in sick.
