Sangre Grande: Police in the eastern town of Sangre Grande believe they have broken a major car accessories stealing ring with the arrest of seven people and the recovery of over $200,000 in stolen items.
Following reports that nine vehicles were broken into over the weekend and equipment including car decks, rims, tyres,monitors and other acessories stolen, police mounted a search and arrested one man.
Following his arrest and based on information given to them they raided a number of homes in Diego Martin, Belmont, Chaguanas, Beetham and Arima. Several items were recovered and seven persons were arrested.
Police said the group had been targeting untinted vehicles with no alarms. Those arrested are to appear before a Sangre Grande magistrate today.
