Georgetown: The Guyana Police Force anti-narcotics branch on Wednesday destroyed $147M in marijuana. A total of 294.2KG of the illicit substance was burnt at the incinerator on Princes Street in the city under heavy police guard.
Superintendent Wayne Deehart, Officer in Charge of the police narcotics branch, told the media that the drugs were netted over a two year period between 2015 and 2016, following a number of busts. A similar exercise will be conducted on Friday.
