Blanchissuese: Police officers of the North Eastern Division have recovered the largest cache of weapons to date since the start of the State of Emergency.
The officers conducted an operation this morning in the Las Cuevas area and two miles into the Rincon forest they discovered 15 high powered firearms of assorted varieties.
In addition, officers recovered 17 magazines, 10,000 rounds of assorted ammunition and two bullet proof vests.
The firearms found included two self-loading rifles, four pump-action shotguns, one 0.25 rifle, three 303 rifles, one mini-Uzi, one Uzi, one Tech-9, one flare gun and one 9mm submachine gun.
Meanwhile Customs officials are also investigating how five Panther rifles came into the country. The weapons arrived in the country on August 8th from the United States and were discovered by worlers at TTPost when it was being shipped out of the country Tuesday to an address in Thailand.
