Port-of-Spain: Quick action by police officers resulted in the re-capture of a prisoner who escaped from a prison in Port-of-Spain this morning after he jumped a wall to make good his escape.
Police reports are that shortly after 9am officers on patrol responded to a wireless report of a prisoner who jumped onto Frederick Street and escaped by running west.
The man was spotted running in the direction of Lord Harris Square. A chase ensued and the 18-year-old escapee was re-captured.
The man who appeared before a San Fernando magistrate on Tuesday on charges of larceny, was remanded in custody to appear in a Port-of-spain court on outstanding matters.
