Essequibo : During yesterday Saturday January 30, 2016, police ranks conducted a drug eradication operation in the Onderneeming Backdam, Essequibo Coast, during which a two-acre size field with cannabis sativa (marijuana) plants under cultivation was found and destroyed.
The field comprised approximately 4,200 plants at an average height of 30cms. An abandoned camp with 100 kilograms of dried marijuana was also found.
The field and the camp were destroyed.
No arrest was made.
