Morvant: 
Police have shot and killed a man who was allegedly brandishing a firearm in Morvant on Monday evening.
Police reports indicate that officers of the North-Eastern Division Task Force responded to calls by residents of Crystal Drive that a 21-year-old man identified as Akiel Ragguette, was seen walking along the road with a gun in his hand.
Residents claimed that the 21-year-old was threatening to use the weapon and shoot indiscriminately in the area. Officers responded and spotted the suspect along the roadway.
Police claim that as they approached him, he allegedly pointed the firearm in their direction. They say he was called upon to drop the weapon but instead opened fire.
A shootout is said to have ensued and the 21 year-old was shot and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
