Essequibo : During yesterday Thursday March 17, 2016, police ranks conducted a search on the baggage of a man at the 70Km Checkpoint, Essequibo, during which 3 kilograms of marijuana were found. He has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Also police ranks on foot patrol along the Guyana/Brazil Bridge at Takatu, Lethem, observed a man running away after throwing away a bag as they approached. The bag was retrieved and found to contain 1 kilogram 600 grams of marijuana.
