San Fernando: Homicide officers are yet to determine what led to the death of 29-year-old Richard Mohammed in what they suspect to be a case of murder.
The handyman of Blitz Village, Pleasantville, San Fernando was found dead in a cesspit by his relatives on Sunday evening.
Mohammed was reported missing after he failed to return home on Saturday after leaving for work at a restaurant where he worked as a bartender and general worker. However, when he failed to return home on sunday morning his mother says they all beleived that beleived that he was out with friends.
As the family grew more worried, a missings persons report was filed at the police station, but it was not long before Mohammed's younger brother found his clothes and shoes at the back of the house and later saw the cover of the cesspit disturbed and spotted the body of the 29-ear-old in the cesspit. Police officers were called in along with forensic officers, who carefully removed Mohammed's body as relatives and neighbours looked on.
Officers are waiting on the results of the autopsy to assist with how the investigation will proceed. Police say if in fact Mohammed was murdered, he would be the 15th murder victim since the State of Emergency was instituted.
