Georgetown: Old habits die hard, this is the fate of a known deportee called 'Yankee' who has been in and out of prisons for drug possession. Last evening reports surfaced that the man in his early 30's confronted an individual with a gun in hand threatening to shoot him. The police were then summoned but not before the deportee fled and returned to his home in Garnett street, Kitty. Within minutes ranks on motorcycles arrived at his home and took him into custody. Within minutes a large contingent of Task Force officers returned to the scene with the deportee and raided his home. They uncovered two unlicensed firearms and a quantity of cocaine. A few years ago the deportee and his wife were arrested in Barbados after they attempted to smuggle a quantity of cocaine into the country. The duo spent 18 months in a Barbados prison before being deported to Guyana.
