Essequibo : Investigations are being conducted into the circumstances surrounding the death of Thakoordial Jaisiri of Charity Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, which occurred last night.
Initial investigations have revealed that at about 7:00pm a policeman was driving a motor car along the Charity Public road when he felt the vehicle run over what he thought to be an obstacle. On checking it was found to be 65 year old Thakoordial Jaisiri, who was lying on the roadway. He was taken to the Suddie Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post mortem examination was done on the body of Takoordial Jaisiri today, and the cause of death was given as being due to multiple injuries to the body.
The policeman is under close arrest as the investigations continue.
