Georgetown : Cognisant of a publication made by the “Propaganda Press” yesterday September 10, 2015, which stated that the ranks of the SWAT Team that was on duty in ‘B’ Division (Berbice) were engaged in criminal activities and that the team was “sent back to Georgetown”, the Guyana Police Force refutes such claims and states that the entire article is a blatant lie.
The police in a statement says “It is normal operational procedure for units deployed from Police Headquarters to be changed over after a period of operations and it was no different in this instance with regard to the SWAT Team.
The members of the SWAT Team recently completed their tour of duty in Berbice where they performed well and made a number of significant arrests. There was no allegation made against them.”
