Georgetown : The Guyana Police Force this afternoon says, cognisant of an article that appeared in the Stabroek News yesterday under the caption “Miner stabbed to death at Aranka”, and which dealt with the death of Keith Wallerson, the Guyana Police Force explain that based on investigations conducted so far, the circumstances surrounding Wallerson’s death appear to be different.
At about 8:00am on Saturday last, the police at Aranka received a report that earlier that day Keith Wallerson, 22 yrs, of Golden Grove, West Coast Berbice, was crossing the Cuyuni River in a boat, when the vessel capsized and he was feared drowned.
A search party that included police ranks subsequently found the body of Keith Wallerson in the Cuyuni River at about 1:00pm on Saturday.
The body bore no visible marks of violence and is at the Lyken Funeral Palour awaiting a post mortem report.
