BANDITS OPEN FIRE ON POLICE FORCING THEM TO RUN FOR COVER IN ALBION LAST NIGHT. Police around 10 last evening came under heavy gunfire when they responded to a robbery at Z-one Chinese Supermarket Albion Front Berbice. Two men raided the business located close to the station after holding the owners at gunpoint. Those inside were ordered to lie face down while the men kicked the owner demanding cash. They were reportedly interrupted by the police who came under an armed assault as the duo made good their escape with a quantity of cash, phones and other valuables. (Photo chronicle)
