The Guyana Police Force says, the child Ethan Jaichand Latchman was never in police custody.Latchman departed Guyana via an official port and not by ‘back track’ as alluded to in the article.
The police claims that the child departed with persons who were authorised to take him to his only surviving parent (his father).
The Force noted with concern the failure by the daily to seek clarification but allowed its self to be used by an attorney to peddle misleading information pertaining to this police related matter and further questioned the motive of the attorney to have misleading information published the day before the related Habeas Corpus case is set for hearing in the High Court.
