Georgetown: The Police in a press release today raised concerns about an article which the force say attempts to besmirch the image of ranks in the Guyana Police Force who have unto recently been doing hard work in the anti-crime unit and more particularly in relation to drugs. The Guyana Times today displayed the caption “TSU ranks under investigations for cocaine drop”
The Police Force wishes to state that a member of the media had approached the Divisional Commander ‘A’ Division and informed him that he had heard about the movements of cocaine involving police ranks. The media representative has not produced a single iota of evidence in relation to any part of the story he claimed that he had heard.
However the Force is asking anyone who can substantiate these allegations to come forward and assist us with a statement in the matter.
