Government has renovated the Cove and John Police Station at a cost of GUY$19M. The station was commissioned Wednesday afternoon at Cove and John, East Coast Demerara.
This upgrade is a stimulus to improve police crime prevention efforts.
Commissioner of Police Leroy Brummell at the event noted that police must act within the confines of the law and in keeping with the force’s standard operating procedures, while carrying themselves in a decent manner. In addition, he reminded the ranks that they are public servants and they must be respectful in executing their duties.
Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee added Cove and John is one of 18 police stations that were remodeled and refurbished under the citizens’ security program.
