Police to maintain strong presence around gas stations- Target for armed bandits.

Georgetown- The police this morning are examining a number of  surveillance tapes at city gas stations to pick up suspects who continue their nightly robberies. Just last evening the armed bandits believe to be the same gang that targeted two other service stations the nights before failed to snatch any loot . Luckily no one was injured at the Esso service station on Vlissengen road.
Information is that shortly after 21:00hrs, two men on a black “CG” motorcycle pulled up, one armed with a gun proceeded to ransack a desk at the pumps looking for money, but unable to find anything he left.

Two nights before gunmen held up separate gas stations. Shell at New Market and Camp streets making off with some $10,000 and the other at Mc Doom on the East Bank leaving with an undisclosed sum. Police are now on high alert and have increased their night patrols along the gas stations particularly those in the city. These recent attacks have forced gas station owners to employ stricter security measures, some are even considering armed guards. But the concern by some motorists is that  whether these measures will have an effect on the price for gas.
