Georgetown : Two ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) will benefit from a Cybercrime Investigative Course to be held in Jamaica from August 13 to 24.
State Minister, Joseph Harmon, who made the disclosure, said the course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and competence in digital Forensic Science necessary to combat cyber and other related crimes.
He noted too that the complexities of Cybercrime, the implications for national security and the vulnerability of Caribbean states to the use of the internet and other Information and Communications Technology (ICT) media in criminal activities will be examined.
The course comes at an opportune time, with the recent passage of the Cybercrime Legislation in the National Assembly.
