Political parties should give back funds from CLICO

Bridgetown.

The People Empowerment Party (PEP) says the ruling Democratic Labour Party (DLP) and the opposition  Barbados Labour Party (BLP) any monies donated to the parties by CLICO holding Barbados Limited.

President of the party David Comissiong claimed both parties received huge sums from the company but did not state the total.

"How do the executive officers of an insurance company that was enticing working class  Barbadians to invest their life saving with them,  justify  splurging $10 million  of the company's money on leasing a private corporate jet and donating hefty sums of money to the BLP and DLP", Commissiong asked.

The lawyer/ politician asked after whether Leader of the Opposition Owen Arthur , after publicy admitting to reciving CLICO funds on behalf  of the BLP was now morally obigated to refund this money to the exploited CLICO policyholders.
