Georgetown: Four persons were arrested in Dartmouth, Essequibo Coast after Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) found potent marijuana valued US$80, 0000 on Saturday.

Three men and a woman were taken into custody after a surveillance operation in the village was done. Law enforcement seized over 150 pounds of marijuana that arrived from Venezuela.
The parcels had an image that resembled the flag of England on it.
Head of CANU James Singh confirmed the narcotics seizure and explained that the anti-drug body will be extending is operations countrywide with the aim of disrupting the routes and deter persons activity in the drug trade.
“We are not waiting at the airports for wharves. We are coming where you feel comfortable, we are not going to allow any community to become contaminated, we are working closer with the community policy groups and other agencies, we want to continue to build public confidence and trust,” Singh told this publication.
