PPP stalwarts back at office of the President

 

Georgetown : Navin Chandrapaul a former advisor to President Bharrat Jagdeo who was dismissed a few years ago is now appointed advisor on Sustainable Development Science and Technology by President Donald Ramotar.

 

Other presidential advisors include those who were there before, Gail Teixeira, Odinga Lumumba, Reepu Daman Persaud and Shyam Nokta.

Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon advised that Sub committees of Cabinet have also been reconstituted and new sub-committees including infrastructure and justice have been added, totalling eight. 
Additionally, sectoral Ministers have been directed by the President to form advisory bodies on which the local and foreign non-governmental personalities would sit and advise the sector ministers. 
 Cabinet has already recognised among its priorities, the local government reform, which would be the subject of its very first sector strategy meeting in 2012.
