President calls for charity to less fortunate

Georgetown : President Donald Ramotar has extended Christmas greetings to all Guyanese on behalf of his family and the Guyana Government, calling for benevolence and philanthropy to the less fortunate to reign supreme.
In a Christmas message to the nation President Ramotar said, “I invite all Guyanese to open their hearts to this spirit of sharing that epitomizes Christmas.” “Let us in the spirit of the season highlight our togetherness and the freedoms that we enjoy as Guyanese. Let us promote goodwill, peace and responsible behaviour that have been so characteristic of Guyana of old,” President Ramotar said.
The President said Christmas has traditionally been embraced as a time when peace, goodwill and charity abound and that over the decades it has become an event that binds all Guyanese, both at home and abroad in the most compelling behaviour that characterises a sense of belonging and our hospitality.
