Georgetown : President Bharrat Jagdeo last evening attended a dinner hosted by members of Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) in honour of the Pakistani cricketers, who are at present on tour in the West Indies.
The President noted that the visiting team’s cricket is of a very high standard and added that Guyana too, has had a long cricketing tradition and has done commendably in the West Indies in this respect.
The team is slated to play a warm-up match against Guyanese players today at Bourda Ground followed by a five-day test match which kicks off on May 12.
