Prime Minister and teachers hold talks on Alexandra School saga

Bridgetown.

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart met with teachers of the Alexandra School for four hours last night, at the end of the meeting no statement was issued in relation to the problems at the school.

The teachers, members of the executive of their union the Barbados Secondary Teacher's Union (BSTU)  led by president Mary Redman and lawyer Hal Gollop, began talks at 4.30 yesterday evening with the Prime Minister  in the Cabinet Officer at Government Headquarters.

Just before 9 pm, Stuart told the press,"I think it is over for this evening". Redman and Gollop would not answer any questions from members of the press.

They response to every question was:"We cannot say anything at this time".

A source told Trakker News the teachers might stay away from school today.
