Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has lauded the contribution of the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to countries of the Caribbean
Stuart in a letter to Vice President Nicolas Maduro Moros, spoke about Chavez's noble crusade as a regionalist and "his commitment to the integration initiatives such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, and the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas.
Stuart said this was testimony to Chavez pivotal role in the history of the region's development and will secure a permanent place for him in the memory of the people of the Caribbean.
Venezuela's Ambassador to Barbados Jose Gomez Febres has extented an invitation to Barbadians to exttend a service of thanksgiving in memory of Chavez on Sunday at the St Patrick's Roman Catholic Cathedral at 11.a.m.
