Port-of-Spain: Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, the Earl and Countess of Wessex are now in Trinidad and Tobago on a two-day visit as part of the diamond jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II.
The royal couple arrived just after six this morning on board the naval vessel the Fort Rosalie and disembarked just after ten and were greeted by Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Suruj Rambachan and National Security Minister Brigadier John Sandy.
The royals later met with President George Maxwell richards and gave out awards to a number of young people involved in the Presidents Award Scheme.
They also attended a special luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar at the Diplomatic Centre.
