Whittaker said that the ministry has been harangued by a number of NDCs and municipalities with regards to the need to have a re-evaluation of properties for the purpose of rates assessment.
They have complained that the current rates and taxes collected for many properties are below the current market value for the said properties.
The Minister said that the ministry will address this issue in the coming year and will also facilitate training programmes for those who will assist in this re-evaluation exercise.
