Georgetown : The Governance and Security Sub-Committee of the Private Sector Commission met with the Commissioner of Police and other Senior Officers of the Force recently and shared their plans for the elections period.
The Commissioner assured the PSC officials that his Force was well prepared to deal with the pre-election, election and post-election period. For Election Day itself all 2,052 polling stations across the country would be supervised by the police and officers would escort Presiding Officers to GECOM at the end of the day.
The private sector officials assured the Commissioner and his staff that they had confidence in the security forces to keep the peace during the period. The PSC also told the Commissioner and his Officers that they would be collaborating with the Electoral Assistance Bureau and would be in close contact with the political parties and the security forces during the period.
