The Barbados National Council of Parent-Teachers Assocation (BNCPTA) will delivered a letter today to the Ministry of Education, giving the ministry 48 hours to bring a short term solution to the impasse at the Alexandra School, between principal Jefff Broomes and 30 members of the school's teaching staff.
Members of the Alexandra School PTA held an emergency meeting over the weekend and agreed that BNCPTA will negotiate with the Ministry of Education on their behalf.
The letter calls on the ministry as the body responsible for ensuring the education of the island's children to implement a sustainable plan to make sure classesa the Alexandra School is adequately cover by a full complement of trained teachers.
BNCPTA, is giving the ministry until Wednesday to put the measure in place or face action from the parents.The nature of the action was not made public but president of BNCPTA Ronda Blackman, told Trakker News, her organization will take action as the children of the school had been disadvantage for too long due the impasse between the school's prinicipal and more than half of the teaching staff.
