Quick response from NDIA avoided Winsor Forest Village to flood- Koker door slipped open

West Coast Demerara : The Ministry of Agriculture's National Drainage and Irrigation
Authority (NDIA) this morning is working with the Region Three Administration to speedily fix the Windsor Forest koker door that slipped from its groove last night.
This was a result of built up of pressure from the current high tide.
Stop-logs are currently being installed to prevent salt water intrusion and effect realignment of the door.
Meanwhile, the NDIA's pontoon is on site and will clear the La Jalousie outfall tomorrow to aid the area with drainage while repairs will be done during the low tide.
