Georgetown: Award-winning R&B singer R. Kelly touched down at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) with a private jet today to perform saturday night at the National Stadium.
Two weeks after the postponement of the event which was billed for August 24, 2013 at the Guyana National Stadium, Jamaican Reggae group Morgan Heritage was added to the cast. In addition to Trinidadian Chutney Singer KI, Kes the Band and Chutney Band JMC Triveni will perform at the event dubbed the “Night of Legends.”
With his latest album titled “black panties” Kelly said that the name was derived from an experience on stage.
“How I got that concept was when I was performing a song called ‘Seems like you ready’ and panties just started flying onto the stage and a pair of black panties came out of the sky and landed on my mike and I said wow this is a sign, so I said after the tour was over I would go home and write a song called black panties but I ended up writing a whole album.” He emphasized.
