Derrick Crawford of no fix place of abode was remanded to HMP Dodds, when he appeared at the Holetown Magistrates's Court yesterday.
Crawford 46, was not allowed to plead to the charge of raping two British women on October 23 and 25, 2010.
He was also not allowed to plead to inflicting serious bodily harm to one of the women.
Prosecutor Station Sergeant Keith Belle, objected to bail for the accused, he told the Court that Crawford was a flight risk.
He added that local police officers had to travel to St Maarten and bring the accused back to Barbados to answer the charges before the Court.
Presiding Magistrate Barbara Cooke-Alleyne remanded Crawford and adjourned the case until May 3o.
