Redjet getting raw deal from Government says businessman

Bridgetown.

A leading Barbadian businessman Ralph "Bizzy" Williams has accused the Government of Barbados of not allowing the low cost carrier Redjet to realize its full potential.

Williams made his displeasure public know during a Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Hilton Hotel in several questions posed  to Leader of the Opposition Owen Arthur, who was the guest speaker.

"Do you think that LIAT should be protected at the expense of entrepreneurial activity such as Redjet"? Williams asked.

"Do you think that effords should be made to shut down and to sabotage an entrepeneurial act something that devised to reduce the cost of travel within Caribbean"?

Redjet has been at odds  with several regional governments over delays in approval of new routes.Williams a shareholder in Redjet, made it clear that his currents issues are with the Government of Barbados which is yet to give the airline permission  for routes between Barbados and St Maarten, St Lucia, Antigua, Grenada and St Kitts.

"It is not the problem with Jamaica and Trinidad I am referring to, it is the problem with Barbados", Williams said.

"Barbados has sabotaged Redjet", he added.
